Description

Teacher Cartoon 8615: A teacher says, “Today we’re going to recognize the difference between nouns, verbs & adjectives. We will use the word ‘hit’.  If I say the D.J. played a hit record, I am describing the record, so it is an adjective.” A student asks, “What’s a record?” Teacher, “A song, a tape, a C.D.  But that’s not the point.  Let’s focus on the word ‘hit.’” Student, “Why didn’t you just say C.D.?” Teacher, “Now a noun names something, so I might say the Broadway show was an overnight hit.” Students,  “What show?”  “Did you see it?”  “I put hotels on Broadway one time.” “That’s Boardwalk you idiot”  “Whatever, I got rich from it.” “hahaha: Monopoly money!” Teacher, “Please children, we’re talking about parts of speech.  Now, as a verb, I might say, ‘I’m ready to hit the roof.’” Students, “Cool”  “Do it.”  “I’d give my hotel money to see that!” Teacher thinks “Lord, give me strength not to HIT one of these little ‘Darlings!’”
